Market terms

HNTED Standard Issue market · Terms and conditions · Last updated 19 October 2026

1. Who runs the market

The market is run by HNTED (a trading name), Melbourne, Victoria ("HNTED", "we"). Contact: hnted.contact@gmail.com.

2. What is sold

3. Taking part

4. How bidding works

  1. Live. The market shows the bids currently holding units, highest first. Anyone can watch; only a shard can bid. The lowest of them is the line. A bid beats the line by one of the steps shown: $1, $5 or $10 while the lowest bid is under $50; $5, $10 or $20 from $50 to $199; $10, $25 or $50 from $200. Bidding starts at $1. Each shard has one live bid at a time.
  2. Below the line. If someone bids higher, your bid drops below the line and you may bid again.
  3. Blackout. 24 hours before the capsule surfaces, bids are hidden. Every shard that bid before then may place one sealed bid (a "final offer"). It must be higher than that shard's bid. Whether it is enough for a unit to be allocated to it is for the bidder to judge. A final offer cannot be changed or withdrawn. No one - including HNTED - sees final offers until bidding ends.
  4. End of bidding. Bidding ends 1 hour before the capsule surfaces.
  5. Ranking. Each shard's final offer, or its live bid if it made no final offer, is ranked from highest to lowest. The units released at that surface are allocated to the highest. The advantage: a shard that held a unit when the market went dark is a unit holder. A unit holder's bid is ranked at its worth: its sealed bid - or the live bid it held the unit at, if it placed no sealed bid - plus 10% (minimum $10), rounded up to the next whole dollar. To rank above a unit holder, another shard must bid more than that worth; an equal bid ranks the unit holder higher. For example: a unit holder whose sealed bid is $27 is worth $37, so $38 is needed; $142 is worth $157, so $158. The amounts shown when the market went dark are only where bids last stood; sealed bids are hidden and may be higher. Otherwise, where two are equal, the one entered first ranks higher. Each allocated shard pays its own bid.
  6. Allocation. After bidding ends, nothing is decided until the allocation is released. HNTED releases it at the capsule, when the surface event begins, and every shard receives its result at the same moment.
  7. If the capsule's surface moves, these times move with it. The current times are always shown in the market. A blackout that has started is never undone.

5. A bid is an offer to buy

6. Payment

7. Receiving a unit

8. Changes and cancellation

9. Your consumer rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a unit is faulty, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund as that law provides. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. We do not offer refunds for a change of mind.

10. Fair play

11. Intellectual property

The object designs, the HNTED name and mark, the lore, the site, the photographs and the 3D models belong to HNTED. Buying a unit gives you that unit. It does not give you the right to copy or reproduce the design.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, HNTED is not responsible for indirect loss - for example, missing a bid or the surface because of your phone, your connection or travel. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Privacy

14. The hunt is free

Finding keys and shards never requires a purchase, and buying a unit has no effect on the hunt or on anyone's chance of opening a capsule.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. A market runs on the terms published when it opened - a change never applies to a market you have already bid in.

16. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
